This is a "Double Album" (over 2 hours) of new material that utilizes only Acoustic Instruments, with a few exceptions in the way of synthesizer in a spot or two.
Instruments I used for this one are: Cello, Piano, Flute, Guitar, Sitar, Percussion, Ghuzeng, Clarinet, Sax, Violin, Synth, Chanter, Xylophone,
There are no drums, no electric guitars. But I still consider this to be a progressive rock / space rock experience. At least in the sense that like much progressive/space music, the songs are lengthy (Title Track is 45 min. !) and not in a rush to go anywhere. The songs take their time to evolve. And in many ways they are just as "heavy" as some of my Electric productions.
The intention for the album from the very beginning was to compose musical journeys that are ever evolving, psychedelic, cinematic and carefully crafted but without electric instruments, to take the listener to some wonderful, tranquil and cosmic places.
Recorded 2020 - 2021
The title of this album "Purple View" also alludes to a certain German Band that inspired much of the mood and texture I was going for with these particular recordings. RIP Florian Fricke (23 February 1944 – 29 December 2001) This album is dedicated to him.
