This is a collection of songs written by Daevid Allen (Gong, Soft Machine) that I felt were calling out to me to try and record / perform, as a tribute to my friend.
His work with Gong was more widely known, but it was his solo work that I felt was equally compelling, if not more so... the song choices here reflect that.
The albums Australia Aquaria, Good Morning, Dreaming a Dream were all very influential and I listened to them a great deal.
Special guests Graham Clark (Violin) and Bridget Wishart (Vocals, EWI) and Mika Laasko (synth) appear on several songs as well.
My daughter Violet makes her recorded vocal debut on this one as well.
So it's a very special album to me, a lot of care went into it's creation.
